Configure Fabric Attach

Before you begin, physically connect the device to a Fabric Connect-enabled switch. To perform the following task, you require the device VLAN ID and I-SID number.

This task is part of the network policy configuration workflow. Use this task to configure Fabric Attach for a device connected to an existing Fabric Connect network.

  1. Go to Configure > Network Policies.
  2. Select an existing network policy, and then select Edit, or select Add.
  3. After you save the Policy Details, select NEXT or 2 Wireless.
  4. Select an existing Device Template to edit, or select Add.
  5. Scroll down to the Wired Interfaces section.
  6. Select Add next to the Fabric Attach field.

    Alternately, select an existing profile from the menu. To edit the selected profile, select Edit. See Configure a Fabric Attach Profile.

  7. Type a Name for the new profile.
  8. Optional: Type a description for the new profile.

    Although optional, entering a description is helpful for troubleshooting and for identifying the profile.

  9. Select to add a VLAN.
  10. Type the associated VLAN ID for the device.
  11. Select the I-SID# for the device from the drop down.
  12. Select SAVE.
